On the roof

I feel safe on the roof.
Alone with nobody around.
Just me and my memories.

But I miss the time with you up here.
When you were there to hold my hand.
And you told me that you love me.

And now I'm bursting out in tears.
Because I remember what happened.
On the last day with you up here.

You were holding my hand and told me that you have to go because it hurts too much.
I didn't realize what you meant by that.
But before I realized it you were gone so sudden I've been alone up here on the roof.
